Synopsis:

The protagonist of this book is a boy named Rossamund. This is the continuation of the book one: Foundling.
The boy is now a prentice lighter and while out on lighting lamps, his group saw a carriage being attacked by nickers. Once they had killed the nickers they went to the carriage to see the survivors, two were dead and one was seriously injured. One of the survivors name Threnody wanted to become a lamplighter just to get away from her mother.

What I liked best about this book and the way this author writes:

The book was well thought out. Also I liked the way the characters speak in the book, I personally didn't hate anything on the book.

Synopsis:

Twilight is about a girl called Bella Swan and has just moved into a town that she would go and have summer holidays with her parents,Until her parents were separated.She moved into a new school and had made new friends.But she had trouble trying to understand a boy called Edward Cullen. And the whole story is about their relationship and the up's and down's they went through.

What I liked best about this book and the way this author writes:

The things that I liked most about this book and the ways she wrote was that, she went into a lot of detail about the relationship between Bella and Edward and also what he tried to do to keep her safe.

Mrs Radford said to include that lots of students at Delany like this series. She has had to buy more copies of all of them.

The Final Chapter Book Club: (Danum)
The society commenced in September 2001 at the request of students who had participated in the school’s first Carnegie Shadowing group, and it was this group who invented the name. The group meets during the whole of Wednesday lunchtimes, in the library; only members are permitted entry at this time and are allowed to eat and drink. New members are always welcome. At the end of the academic year members receive a certificate denoting projects undertaken, reviews written and generally giving them something solid to put in their Record of Achievement. From January 2006 the group has widened its cohort to include those interested in writing creatively. A launch event was held with participants joining Dave Cryer in a creative writing day so successful the students wanted to fundraise to pay for him to come back! The creative writing initiative is intended to give students a place to confidently, anonymously and safely write whatever they wish without fear of censorship, being judged or read, having their spelling, punctuation or grammar corrected or even having to show anyone at all. This is a new element to the group so time will tell…
The group undertakes reading related projects, produces a magazine, reads and reviews books, shadows the Carnegie and Greenaway Medals and joins in the annual Doncaster Book Award. The members also read and review whatever they wish and write whatever their imagination tells them to!

The L_TAG : (Newtown Middle School)
L-Tag has been going for a while now. We like to have fun by having contest and activities for our school. Every year we do a contest at our school called survivor at your library. All the kids in the school vote off the books they don’t like and at the end there is only one book left. The “ survivor!"

We meet every Tuesday during our activity time; after homeroom, and we always welcome new members.

We are a big family, hear at Newtown Middle School library. We might only have one thing in common loving to read, but that doesn’t stop us!
The Full Stops: (Delany College)

'The Full Stops' originated in 2006 when Rosette suggested the idea of a Book CLub to Mrs. Radford.
Rosette became the first President, and Ashley was pulled in as Vice President of the Club and the Book Club began!

We began by having our weekly meetings on Mondays in the back room of the library.
Members would bring their lunch, and the book they were currently reading to share with the group.
We used the Library Blog to start, then I created the Book Club blog. The link is also on the Library main page.

After a while we decided to give the club a bit of a makeover.
The first stage was to increase our members.
Members still bring their lunch to eat, and the book they are reading to share with the group.
We changed our meetings to a more suitable day of Wednesday and moved the location to
the fiction area where we were seen by many students. We got 3 new members on the very first day.
We introduced our little snacks, where everyone was assigned a week to bring some nibblies and
we decided to create a name. Late 2007, we voted as a club and decided on the Full Stops!
A close vote it was, with only one vote difference with the runner up name.

Now we're a club that reads, develops the library program, promotes reading activities for students,
and makes reading fun.

Best friends for never / Harrison

They have to wear uniform thanks to Massie and her clique with their Halloween costumes. Then they have a fashion competition to choose the best outfit for their school uniform. Read the book to see who won the contest!!!!

Synopsis:

This book is about Massie, Dylan, Alicia, Kristen and Claire. Massie the ruler of the clique and Dylan is her second in command. Alicia is pretty and also sneaky, she would love to take Massie'd throne one day. Kristen is smart and also is one of the girls in the clique. Claire who just moved from Florida to Westchester, desperately to fit in with the group. I think it is a really interesting book because it's about young girls with the high/middle school problems and how they deal with it.

What I liked best about this book and the way this author writes:

What I like best about this book is that i can imagine myself as one of those girls and the situations that i have been in. It seems very real.

My Favourite Book

I am going to talk to you just a little bit about my favourite book in the entire world: The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud. I personally am really into fantasy books-stuff about magic and mystery and intrigue. I went along while thinking that I would never find a fantasy book that could possibly beat Harry Potter. But, one day, while I was shelving in my school library, i stumbled across this book-and i was absolutely blown away. The characters, settings, descriptions and twisting plots are to die for. This really is a fantastic book. Read it please!!!

Rani and Sukh / Bali Rai

Synopsis:

Rani and Sukh is like many other Forbidden Love's but the twist within this text is that it's not about religion. Instead, it's a forbidden love between two members of families that detest each other. The hidden dislike between the two families goes a while back and is visited in the middle of the novel through a flashback.

One of the two teenagers who has been caught in this Forbidden Love remained oblivious to the family issues while the other knew. It caused a lot of strife in their lives, having a very emotional and moving ending.

I absolutely loved the characters and how they were drawn out. The way that Bali Rai made them seem like real life teenagers was absolutely perfect, in my opinion. After reading many books based on teen life, there are only few authors that I can admit can handle the mind of a teenager well. Bali Rai is one of these wonderful authors.

I loved Rani and how she found a love she didn't want to let go of. She followed her heart and loved Sukh so much. Sukh was you're typical teenager guy, he got into fights, he swore and he had this infatuation with female bodies (as you can tell from the blurb) although he had a slightly different - more caring - side to him. He loved his sister and was awfully close to her, but most of all, he loved Rani.

I found the book very gripping and the connection between the relationship and the history was fantastic. It's a book that left me lost for words and simply wanting more. It leaves you wondering what happened to the character in the end? How was the relationship with their parents affected? What happened to those caught in the criminal acts that I refuse to say a lot about? (I don't want to destroy the story!)

I didn't, though, enjoy how the past was meshed into the middle.I enjoyed the connection between the two but not the way it was set out. Compared to the story of the two teenagers, the story of the past was something that almost put me to sleep in some stages. I must admit, though, their were parts slightly more interesting. I would, however, prefer reading the story of Rani and Sukh, the two teenagers, a million times more than that of the past.

What I liked best about this book and the way this author writes:

I loved how the teenagers were depicted as real teenagers. Some authors can never satisfy me with this criteria.
I love how the book leaves things open for thought such as those above mentioned questions.
The way that Bali Rai has gone about in putting this book together using different perspectives. It's such a simple thing but it really helped me understand the characters better, making me feel as if I knew them personally. This, then, made me feel a stronger than usual emotion when it came to the end.

How It Works - Readers

When you and your Librarian decide to join, you will do these things:

1. Add an entry about your Club in the 'About Book Clubs' section.

2. Choose some favourite authors from your country to share with other readers.
You can also include 1 or 2 other favourite authors from other countries that you particularly like.
Add these to the 'Choose a book' section.

3. Check out the authors suggested by other schools and choose a book to read.

After you have read your book...
4. In 'Review and discuss' Follow the guidelines and write a short review, and decide
on 2 or 3 questions about the book to start the discussion.
Sign your review with your site-name which is on the members list.
Have your Librarian post it in the 'Review and discuss' section. Scroll down to find the threads about your book.

5. Watch the threads for replies... and reply back.
Remember to always include questions. It makes online discussions much easier.

That is all there is to it really. We hope you will enjoy discussing books with us, and that you will keep reading and keep adding authors.

Our Book Club has always been quite small, so we decided we would like to link up with readers in other schools in other other countries.

Synopsis:
Maximum Ride, Schools out forever, is an amazing novel by James Patterson that looks at the life of teenage mutants. This gripping novel pulls the readier on an adeventure through the highs, the lows and the wierd moments in the life of the teenage mutants: Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge and Angel. Maximum Ride, School's Out forever is the story of six unforgettable children (and their dog) of whom are confronted with some major complications.

These teenagers and their dog are being hunted down by killers, after escaping from the experimental labs (a.k.a- The School). The killers (a.k.a Erasers) are experiments from the lab aswell and will stop at nothing to stop these incredible teenages of whom can fly and are supposed to save the world.

However, as much as the teenagers try to dodge the Erasers, the Erasers always seem to find them. Max, the leader, is sure that she is microchiped and is bring the forces of evil to ambush her and her fellow mutants.

This is a scary, strange, peculiar and fairly funny novel. This thriller will stop at nothing to shock the reader. Maximun Ride, School's Out Forever RULZ.

*His suspensfulness-You never knew what was going to happen next.
*His language- Was very easy to understand.
James Patterson is an amazing author who deserves great commendation for his writing skills and abilities.
